Now this is girl power! If only J. Michael Straczynski's comic iteration of the Woman Warrior - to say nothing of David "Ally McBeal" Kelly's douche-chill inducing TV version, who like most of Kelly's women seems to define herself by her lack of boob confidence-
- had an ounce of the awesomeness on display in this single panel from Ralph Cosentino's Wonder Woman: The Story of the Amazon Princess.
Still, I highly approve of smart, empowering children's books. Get 'em while they're young and impressionable.
Cosentino does terrific superhero books for kids, and Amazon Princess looks like great piece of work. I'm totally getting a copy for my niece. It's available for pre-order now, and will hit bookstores on April 14.
Stylish and useful!
But for realsies, I'm a huge fan of Batman Black and White, and the Joker graphic novel, written by Brian Azzarello and illustrated by Bermejo on which this design is based.
The statue hits stores in May, and is available for pre-order now.

News today of the death of actor Nicholas Courtney has struck genuine sadness through the geek community and the world at large. A fine actor and a seemingly genuinely lovely man, he was also the longest-serving actor in Doctor Who history.
